Winsnes to Rosenborg

Fredrik Winsnes has signed a two-year contract with Rosenborg.

BACK: Fredrik Winsnes is back in RBK and get shirt number 8.

Wednesday morning Fredrik Winsnes signed a two-year contract with Rosenborg. The former Rosenborg player transfer from Strømsgodset where his contract runs out 31 December. Winsnes left Rosenborg for Aalborg at the end of the 2005 season. Now he's back where he began his proffesional career.

- I was flattered when RBK contacted me. It is a club I know well and at the same time the best club in Norway, says Winsnes to RBK.no.

33-year-old Winsnes made his debut for Rosenborg in 1997 has so far 274 appearances for the club. 173 of them in the league. Now he's back in Norway's finest club shirt to get more games.

Rosenborg has undergone a generational change since Winsnes last was here, and there are few players at the club he has shared dressing room with in the past. Alejandro Lago, Micke Dorsin, Per Ciljan Skjelbred, Espen Johnsen and Roar Strand is the familiar faces from four years ago. Next year will will the new-old RBK player be one of the veterans on the team.

- Yes, when I left the club in 2005 I was one of the youngest on the team and I was 30 years. So I suppose it was natural that it would come a generational change, says Winsnes.

Winsnes will get the number 8 shirt.
