Monday morning Jamtfall singned a one year contract with Rosenborg, but he will also in 2010 play for Ranheim. The 22-year-old has struggled with injuries the past two years, but the sports director Erik Hoftun still have faith in the youngster.
- Michael has been unlucky with injuries, but we still have faith in him as a player. Now it is important that he gets to play at a higher level in Ranheim and hopefully become a key player for them this season. We also have a partnership with Ranheim, and this agreement will enhance their opportunities this season, Hoftun tells RBK.no.
- Some will argue that it is strange that Rosenborg renews a contract with a player who has been injured for such a long time?
- This is not a gesture of good will. Michael is a talented player and we have renewed the contract because we think it is in the best interest of Rosenborg. He is finally free from his injuries and will now get a chance to play on a higher level than Rosenborg can offer him at the moment, Hoftun explains.
Jamtfall has been on loan to Ranheim the last six months, but a strain injury kept him out of the team. He now looks forward to finally show his full potential.
- This is a great opportunity for me and I am grateful that Rosenborg still has faith in me. Ranheim is the right level for me this season, and I can not wait to get started, Jamtfall told RBK.no Monday morning and added:
- I've learned that I should listen more to the body and take injury signals seriously. I hope it will help me in order to avoid injuries in the future.
Rosenborg can call back Jamtfall in the next transfer window which opens August 1st.
