The player from Costa Rica transfers to the club that brought Erik Solér in as general manager and sports director right before Christmas.
- This is the best for all parties. It didn't look like Roy would get any more playing time in 2010 then in 2009, says Rosenborg's sports director Erik Hoftun to RBK.no.
Roy Miller came to Rosenborg from Bodø/Glimt in the 2008 pre season. He got a good start as left wing back in Trondheim, but had to see the last part of the 2008 season from the sideline due to an injury.
He went on loan to Swedish club Örgryte in the summer of 2009 and startet 13 matches during the autumn. Now he will play for the New York Red Bulls in Major League Soccer.
- I do not know the level of U.S. soccer very well, but I think it will be a great new start for Roy, and wish him much luck in the U.S., says Hoftun.
Roy Miller looks forward to new challenges in New York, and is excited to embark on a new adventure in the MLS.
- I am very happy with this option, and think it is the best for my future. I do not think I would get much playing time in the Rosenborg and therefore it will be best for me and my family to go to New York, says Roy Miller to RBK.no.
Miller will still miss the life and the club in Trondheim.
- I leave a club where people are very professional. I am very grateful to the fans, directors and partners. I wish them well, greets Miller.
Miller got 17 matches in the Tippeliga, 5 NM-matches and 4 Europa League qualifying matches for Rosenborg.
