SOLID WIN: Per Ciljan Skjelbred and Rosenborg advanced to play off with 3-0 against AIK.

Neighter side managed to dominate in the first half of the second leg in the UEFA Champions League qualification at Lerkendal. Rosenborg had most of the ball possession, but AIK were aggressive in their defense work and was at times able to stay high on the pitch. The half had a lot of nerves, but no major chances were produced.

Second half became a different story. Rosenborg put a pressure on the Swedes right from the beginning and it didn't took long before the triggering goal came. After nine minutes Rosenborg came trough on the left side and Skjelbred made a low cross along the 16-meter line. Rade Prica was on the spot and hammered the ball in the net by the right side post.

Lerkendal exploded and Rosenborg really let loose their attacking play arsenal. Markus Henriksen sent the ball in the crossbar with a powershot from 35 meters before Vadim Demidov found the way to the goal a few minutes later. At a precisely struck free kick from Trond Olsen the midfielder dominated in front of goal and headet the ball past the keeper.

Tonight's finest came after 75 minutes. Mikael Lustig carried the ball into the edge of the 16-meter and bended the ball beautifully into the opposite to corner. With 3-0 on the score board, Rosenborg had a great finish in their own play ground. All three substitutes Trond Olsen, Roar Strand and Mushaga Bakenga got to good scoring opportunities and when the referee blew the final whistle, the players were applauded of the pitch by a great crowd that helped the team to secure the Europe cup participation.

Rosenborg is now qualified to the playoff round of the UEFA Champions League, and is at least secured the participation in the UEFA Europa League group stage.
