Rosenborg won 2-1 after a tight clash against FC Copenhagen at Lerkendal.
Rosenborg got a good start in the first playoff leg against the Danish champions and ruled most of the play in the first 30 minutes.
After creating several potential goalscoring opportunities Steffen Iversen was on the spot when the major chance was created after 23 minutes. Prica elegantly lobbed the ball to Henriksen who headed it backwards in the pentalty area. From eight meters Steffen Iversen placed the ball in the net; Rosenborg in the lead.
FC Copenhagen improved their play in the last 15 minutes and created several good opportunities. The greatest one came as Dame N'Doye was alone with Daniel Örlund but RBKs goalie stopped the shot. 1-0 at half time.
In the second half FC Copenhagen had a lot of ball possesion and came to several good opportunities, but Rosenborg scored the first goal. On a corner kick Anthony Annan made a power shot and Markus Henriksen flicked the ball into the net.
Mushaga Bakenga substituted Trond Olsen in the 65th minute and got to a tremendous chance to increase the lead. It was Bakenga who beautifully played by Rade Prica trough on the right side. The Swede sent the ball past the FCK-keeper, but in the post. Bakenga was at full speed against the back post, but had too much speed and slipped as he had to turn to reach the rebound. FCK cleared the ball.
Soon after, FC København got their important away goal. The Danes had been dangerous on corners throughout the match and was eventually paid for the efforts. Jesper Grønkjær was thoughest infront of goal and headed the ball in the far corner. The game at Lerkendal ended 2-1. The next leg will be played in Parken, Copenhagen at Wednesday next week.
