FC København too strong

FC København advanced to the Champions League and now Europa League awaits Rosenborg.

FCK attacked from the first minutes on their home ground Parken in the second leg qualifier for the UEFA Champions League.

Trond Olsen got a good chance to send Rosenborg ahead in the opening minutes, but finished on the keeper. FCK gave Rosenborg problems throughout the first half deservingly got the lead in the 33rd minute as Sölvi Ottesen made a precise header to the far corner.

Both FCK and Rosenborg created scoring opportunities. FCK hit the post twice and Rade Prica got to finish on target at two occasions, but at half time the score still was 1-0.

Nils Arne Eggen took action in during the break. Veteran Roar Strand entered the pitch and in parts of the second half Rosenborg took control of the midfield.

Rosenborg managed to put pressure on the home side in the closing minutes and would go to the Champions League with a goal. Roar Strand came closest as he finished from ten meters, but the FCK-keeper got a hand to the ball and sent it in the cross bar!

FC København won 1-0 and advanced to the Champions League due to the away goal rule. Rosenborg now will participate in the UEFA Europe League.
