Rosenborg and Panathinaikos have reached an agreement for a loan of the central defender Mattias Bjärsmyr.
SWEDISH DEFENDER: Mattias Bjärsmyr joins Rosenborg.
The 24 year old defender is joining Rosenborg trough a loan agreement, but Rosenborg has an option to get a permanent transfer.
Mattias Bjärsmyr has played 31 U21 nationals where he was captain, and three games for the Swedish national team as well.
- He is a player we have been watching for some time, says Rosenborg’s sports director Erik Hoftun to RBK.no.
- He did very well for IFK Göteborg up until last summer. He is a leader and a powerful player that we expect much of.
Bjärsmyr is from Jönköping, Sweden, and went on to IFK Göteborg in 2005. At post season he was named the Newcomer of the year in Allsvenskan. He also played together with Alejandro Lago in 2006.
He did well in the U21 European Cup in 2009, and transferred to Greek side Panathinaikos.
